        • NUMERATOR DEFINITION:
        • PSA screening was measured in men age 68 to 74 using the Medicare Carrier and Outpatient files: CPT codes G0103 or 84153. To capture those who had a PSA test for a presumed screening indication, men who had any history of prostate disease (prostate cancer, prostate surgery, or diagnosis of elevated PSA in the prior three years) or who had symptoms in the three months before a PSA test that might have triggered a suspicion of cancer according to diagnostic codes billed on visits and hospitalizations were excluded from the PSA measure.
